to the cold season, when christmas music feels more justifiable than when i turned it on in july,





when new years' eve allows for an animal-themed moon bounce,






and when blog pictures cannot be spaced throughout a post, only grouped together,



pushing the text to the right, and forcing me to add an embarassing picture of leigh, so as to provide an adequate explanation.

i have been tagged as part of a new blog stimulus plan. the goal is that i provide six interesting facts about myself. easier said than done, but let's see...


1. my favorite food is pasta, specifically mostacioli. this coincides with the ease of making pasta dishes, but don't draw any quick conclusions because my second-favorite food is holzknechtnocken strawberry curd au gratin.


2. i am a practicing pescetarian, which means i eat fish but no other meat. this is interesting because it places me on a scale somewhere between a vegetarian and a shark, and impressively draws scorn from both meat-lovers and PETA.


3. in middle school i placed third in a spelling bee. the word i lost on was 'theoretician.' the winner correctly spelled 'terpsichorean.' i have carefully avoided spelling bees ever since.


4. i am an S.S.W.G singer/songwriter-with-guitar, and am extremely well known for my guitar playing within small social circles. i own an 8-track and record silly songs in my apartment. some higher aspirations are connected to this.


i have fallen short of the six interesting facts!!

lots of good things are happening lately.

for one, my advisor informs me i have 28 units left until graduation...
this means that in one month i will be a senior!

also on the list, some new songs and home recordings,
with references to rough river lake, kentucky,
old friends, long last names, and some
fabricated first-person narratives, among other things.

people who aren't on the grapevine might be interested to know
that i am taking an assistant manager role at work,
and will be interviewing, hiring and training an entire store
on the fundamentals and philosophy of scooping ice cream this summer.

finally, and of most significance,
as of 3/31/08, i am an uncle to
mr. william thomas crick sevenree,
who i have not met yet but
whose name bears some exciting
compositional similarity to my own.
this is a very exciting time for a lot of people.

it isn't in the rules anywhere, but now that i'm officially a twenty-something, the time seems right to get the ball rolling on a blog. keeping one up requires a lot of time and effort, and school tends to occupy the free time necessary to talk substantially about everything going on in the world.

fortunately, blogging technology allows me to fill that void with embarrassing pictures instead.
